Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions are <short blurb> ... a peaceful and impactful way of political protest. Many American and International companies support the Israeli Apartheid Regime both directly or indirectly, and awareness of these BDS targets - knowing which companies to avoid, which products to substitute, where to spend your money in good conscience - is a proven way to move the needle. It is unfortunate that these companies are receptive to their bottom line instead of humanity, but at the same time, money talks, no matter who it is from, so BDS is also an outlet for anyone to protest.
Why? Because it works:

Beyond your choices to BDS companies as an individual, your elected officials can be convinced to institutionally divest from BDS targets like Israel and complicit companies or industries. For example, the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) has both a list of companies to divest from, as well as a whitepaper which can be used as guidance for local governments and pension funds to invest in pro-humanitarian industries, away from apartheid-supporting, military-industrial, prison-industrial, or environmentally damaging industries.
